Ms. Narmada Ranaweera, Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ), participated
in the “Seminar on Power Grid Construction and Management for Shanghai Cooperation Organization Countries” organized by North China Electric Power University in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, held in Beijing, China, from 27 May to 16 June 2026.

The seminar provided valuable exposure to the latest developments and practices in UHV power transmission, smart power transmission and transformation, power grid construction, and grid operation and dispatching. The technical sessions, expert discussions, and practical visits offered valuable insights into modern power grid technologies, their management, and the challenges associated with developing reliable and sustainable power systems.
