Cardexa is a clinician-in-the-loop AI system developed using a local clinical dataset for model training, designed to support cardiovascular assessment through coronary angiogram and ECG analysis. The system automatically segments coronary vessels, identifies major coronary arteries, including the Left Anterior Descending (LAD), Left Circumflex (LCX), and Right Coronary Artery (RCA), measures the degree of coronary stenosis, and digitizes paper-based ECGs into analyzable signals.

The system further compares ECG and angiogram findings to support evidence concordance, reconstructs 3D coronary artery models from paired angiogram views, and generates visual PDF reports to assist clinical interpretation. By integrating multiple AI-driven capabilities into a single platform, Cardexa aims to provide clinically relevant insights while keeping healthcare professionals at the centre of the decision-making process.

CocoGuard – AI Detection of Coconut Nutritional Deficiencies and Parasitic Infestations from Drone Images

CocoGuard is an end-to-end precision agriculture platform designed to automate coconut plantation monitoring through drone-based video analytics and deep learning. The system employs a two-stage AI inference pipeline, achieving 97% mean Average Precision (mAP@50) for tree crown detection, alongside per-tree disease segmentation.

By integrating automated video stitching and inverse homography projection, CocoGuard transforms raw aerial footage into geolocated, tree-level health records and interactive plantation maps. The platform also generates actionable treatment reports to support targeted interventions, improve plantation monitoring, and help mitigate potential crop losses associated with nutritional deficiencies and pest infestations.

ClearTone – A Hearing Support Application for Enhanced Communication

Merit Award

Team Members

ClearTone is a smartphone-based hearing support application designed to assist individuals with hearing difficulties in everyday communication. The system integrates self-administered hearing screening, personalized multiband sound amplification, speech-to-text, and text-to-speech functionalities to provide hearing and communication support using a smartphone and connected earphones.

The project explores how mobile technology can make hearing assistance more accessible, affordable, and personalized, while supporting greater independence in daily life. By combining hearing support and communication tools in a single application, ClearTone aims to offer a practical technology-based solution for individuals experiencing hearing difficulties.
