The semester 4 (batch 7) students participated in a field visit to Laxapana Power Station and Broadlands Power Station on the 09th of January 2025. The primary objective of this visit is to provide students with an opportunity to observe the main concepts of hydropower generation in Sri Lanka. And also aims to learn about different types of turbine arrangements, electrical power generation and transmission, safety and protection systems at the power plants, and what are the maintenance of these hydropower plants.
