The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of University of Sri Jayewardenepura purchased a fluorescence microscope system by Zeiss. The system comprises a fluorescence microscope with automatize stand, a camera unit, and a dedicated computer workstation. Dr. Akila Subsinghe, Dr. Vidura Jayasoriya and the other lecturers in biomedical engineering envisage to provide knowledge on utilization of microscope technology to our students in conducting cutting edge research work in the areas of biomedical Image processing, lab on a chip technology, micro fluidics and nanotechnology. This is the only such unit available in Sri Lanka with Zeiss optics.
