We’re excited to share some incredible news from the heart of the Department of Computer Engineering. Ms. Akarshani Amarasinghe has not only made us proud but has left her mark at the prestigious National ICT Awards – NBQSA 2023, which took place on October 25th, 2023.
Akarshani’s brilliance earned her not just one but two distinguished awards:
🥇 Gold Award in the Postgraduate Student Project in Student Category.
🏆 Student Research Project of the Year.
Now, let’s dive into her award-winning project, “Multi-Goal Seeking Path Planning Algorithm.” This cutting-edge work is set to revolutionize the application of drones, enabling them to find the best possible paths for their missions. A true game-changer in the world of drone technology!
But that’s not all. Ms. Akarshani wears multiple hats—she currently serves as a dedicated lecturer in our Department of Computer Engineering. And as if that’s not impressive enough, she’s concurrently pursuing her MPhil at the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC), Sri Lanka. It’s this very MPhil research that earned her the coveted award at NBQSA 2023.
