Prof. Ganga Samarasekara obtained her Ph.D. and M.Eng. degrees from Saitama University, Japan, and her B.Sc.Eng. (Hons) degree from the University of Moratuwa. Her academic specialization is in Transportation Engineering and Engineering Education, with research interests that include walkability in street networks, vehicle emissions, traffic calming, and geometric design.
Prof. Ganga Samarasekara has rendered exemplary service to the department, including a six-year tenure as Head of the Department, during which she provided strong leadership and strategic direction.
