Gold Medal – Department of Civil Engineering

The award of Gold Medal for Civil Engineering for the Most Outstanding Graduand of the Department of Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering has decided to award a Gold Medal for the Most Outstanding Graduand of the Department with effect from the year 2021 convocation of Batch 01 (2015/2016). The medal is endowed by the well-wishing academics of the department.

The students from the Civil Engineering Department will be eligible for this award. The name of the gold medal, motto, qualification and selection criteria for the medal are as follows.

Awarded to the best performing Civil Engineering student of Bachelor of the Science of Engineering Honours Degree program who obtains the highest Overall Grade Point Average of 3.70 or above.

Qualification Criteria

In order to qualify for the gold medal, the graduand should satisfy the below criteria,

Successfully completed the Degree Program within four academic years.
Has obtained an Overall Grade Point Average of 3.70 or above.
Has not been repeated in any of the GPA courses.
Has no disciplinary action against the student.

Selection Criteria

The student with the highest OGPA who has fulfilled the above qualification criteria will be selected as the awardee.
If there are multiple qualifying candidates with same OGPA, the candidate with highest number of ‘Outstanding’ grades (A+), will be selected as the awardee.
If there are multiple qualifying candidates with same OGPA, and a same number of ‘Outstanding’ grades (A+), the candidate who has the highest average mark for all compulsory and elective courses would be selected as the awardee.
