Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory

Each civil engineering structure such as building, bridge, pipeline, canal, dam, and road pavement is found on soil and rock. Geotechnical Engineering is one of the major sub-disciplines of Civil Engineering, concerning the investigations on engineering properties of soil and rock.

The Geological Laboratory facilities contain a diverse range of conventional soil and rock testing equipment.

Key research areas

  • Solidification of soils
  • Rheological properties soils
  • Peat soils
  • Ground improvement
  • Slope stability
  • Long-term consolidation & Ancient construction materials
