Engineering is regarded as a profession of high standards and moral obligations. Following the vision of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, “Prosper lives through education”, the Department of Civil Engineering intends to train a set of young graduates who are equipped with basic knowledge in civil engineering, and who follow the engineering ethics when they are working in the industry.
As a constant reminder of the engineers’ pride, professional obligation and the ethics associated with their engineering profession, the department of civil engineering is presenting a ring for their graduates. It is also considered as a department legacy extended by the academic staff of the department of civil engineering.
The Engineers’ Ring is conferred to graduates who have successfully completed the Bachelor of Science Engineering Honours Degree specialized in Civil Engineering, at a ring-giving ceremony.
