First Professor of the Faculty of Engineering, USJ

Dr K.M.C. Konthesingha has been promoted to the post of Professor, becoming the first Professor in Engineering in the history of University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and the first in  the Faculty of Engineering. Professor Konthesingha is one of the founding members of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He was the founding Head of the Department of Civil Engineering and is currently serving as the Dean of the Faculty.

Professor Konthesingha obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Moratuwa in year 2006 and completed his Masters from the same university in year 2008. He earned his PhD from the University of Newcastle, Australia in year 2012. His research interests include Structural Masonry, Lightweight Concrete, Fire Safety of Buildings and Retrofitting and Strengthening of Masonry Structures.
