USJ signed an MoU with Viromedi Pvt Ltd to investigate the suitability of disposed face masks as a construction material

University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Viromedi Private Limited, a leading surgical masks manufacturer in Sri Lanka signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) on 17 ^th of November 2021 to promote collaborative research on investigating the suitability of disposed face masks as a material for construction applications.

Senior Prof. Sudantha Liyanage, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura signed the MoU on behalf of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, while Mr. Chandana Puncihewa, Managing Director, Viromedi Pvt Ltd signed the MoU on behalf of the Viromedi Private Limited.

Dr. Chaminda Konthesingha, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. G.N Samarasekara, Head, Department of Civil Engineering and other senior academic members of the department attended the occasion representing the university while the CEO, Group Head of Finance and Supply Chain Manager of Viromedi Pvt Ltd also attended the occasion.
