Chirantha Ranasinghe, a third year student who is concurrently engaged in his own entrepreneurial endeavours recently won the Best Young Entrepreneur award at the J’Pura Employability Skills Awards (JESA) 2021 ceremony. He was also a semi finalist for the BESA award (Best Employability Skills Achiever).
Chirantha’s work is centred around creating CNC aided wooden crafts. Initially beginning with wooden souvenirs using CNC laser machines, he was able to upgrade them to produce many types of CNC aided wooden crafts. He is now expanding onto making clocks and 3D carvings. He will soon launch the website for his business and hopes to develop it further by moving onto to making aesthetic panels for architectural purposes.
